Matt was James’ best man at our wedding, and there is a good reason for that – Matt has a really generous heart. He contacted me after we moved down to Utah asking if he could get us to take their family pictures. I find this great for a number of reasons. 1.) He is a guy, and perhaps the very first of our male clients contacting us to take family pictures. 2.) He wanted to do something sweet for his wife Samantha for her birthday and knew she would love some updated family pictures. I’m pretty sure he won some brownie points with this one. and 3.) He talked to me first, instead of James, which means he knows who the true boss is with our photography business.

One warm, sunny, Sunday evening I had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous family! Yes, it must be in the blood. Yes, that is my sister. Yes, my nieces and nephews are awesome. Yes, Elizabella is superwoman in many of her shots. And yes, I love how they turned out. My sister puts is a big believer of getting her family’s pictures updated, and I love that about her because it reminds me when I need to do my own. She always dresses her family up cute and I love it. Ron’s brother Reed and his family also joined in on the fun for some updated pictures as well.

Kevin’s Family Mini Session {Rexburg, ID family photography}

My brother Kevin lives in Washington and we don’t get to see him very often. When we got together last he asked us to take some pictures of his cute family so they could have an updated family portrait. We didn’t have a lot of time to take pictures, but we couldn’t have asked for nicer weather at wintertime. Kevin is a bit of a joker so I was very glad that we got some “normal looking” family pictures with him. (Love you Kevin!) Aren’t they such a good-looking family? I also just need to add that I have the most adorable nephew and niece ever. Kevin and Sheila are expecting their third child (A GIRL) next month in April. Congrats guys. Can’t wait for little Jenna to come.

We had the opportunity to take some family pictures of this cute family right before Christmas. The weather was cold, but thankfully the famous Rexburg wind wasn’t in full swing. The pictures turned out great I thought. Enjoy.

This cute family traveled all the way from Boise. Joy was also 8 or 9 months pregnant at the time, so she was a trooper. Doesn’t she look amazing? These pictures weren’t taken in December, obviously, but I like to look at them and think of the future warmth spring will eventually bring.

The family was a lot of fun to work with, the kids smiled when we told them to, and James of course had a hard time trying to think of jokes for older children since he’s use to just screaming to get attention from toddlers. They humored him and laughed at the one joke he knows “Once there was a sea cucumber and a molusk…” and we were able to get some great pictures. Thanks for letting us photograph your fam Joy and Mike!

Here are some pictures from the Riley family who took advantage of a mini session this summer. Sarah and I used to be in the same complex building when we were in college, so it is always fun to catch up with one another. Last time we took their pics they only had one son, so it was fun to see their growing family. Isn’t their family sweet?

In case you didn’t know – we are currently offering a mini session special for clients. You get 5 images on a CD with written permission to reproduce the prints for $40, which includes your half hour session fee. This is a real steal compared to other photographers.

I think now that their Christmas cards are in the mail/up online, it’s safe to post these pics of my brother Alan and his family. We were in luck because the weather was beautiful in October. We were also in luck because Alan and Tommi ended up dyeing their hair black the week or so after these pictures were taken for Halloween. So it was good for them to get some cute family pictures in before the more “crazy” hairstyles emerged. (I can say that because we’re related…)

This guy could melt anyone’s heart. James-Myler is the cutest!

Sheri contacted us to do a family portrait session and when we met she commented that she knew us through our doctor. She works for the amazingly, fabulous Dr. Thomas Jones, here in Rexburg. We were referred to him actually from a friend/client, and have been so much happier with him than any doctor we’ve ever had. Yeah, he’s that good. We interviewed him when I was looking for someone to deliver Elena, and he took the time to answer all our questions for 45+ minutes (with out being paid, mind you) and answered every question exactly the same as all our research. Seriously, he is awesome. So, if you are searching for a good family practioner, OB/GYN, etc. – check him out. Also, if you book a session with us and mention that you are a client of his I’m pretty sure we will throw in an extra print or something fun because we pretty much love Dr. Jones.

Okay, on to the family session and off the soap box for Dr. Jones. haha. Isn’t this family so adorable? I always get asked what families should wear to photo shoots. Well, look at this cute scheme. No matchy matchy shirts, but the outfits and color scheme compliment each other perfectly. The family was fun to work with, the girls were nice and not shy about doing fun poses, and their cute dog, (their “boy”) was adorable. Here are some of the shots from the day.

A little more than a year ago we took some pictures of this family. I remember it was really cold and it was starting to snow. I also remember my car had died right after the shoot and they had to jump my car. The kids we cute and they suffered through the shoot, and we got some great photos. In fact I was just looking at them and I think it is funny how my still has changed as well as my technical knowledge. This year, luckily, we hadn’t waited until it was snowing. It was a little cold still but the pictures look awesome and warm. Thanks guys for coming out and having fun with me.

{Sneak Peaks} Rexburg Idaho Photographers

Today was an incredibly busy day. We had four sessions starting at 8 this morning and I don’t think we finished until almost 7 tonight, 4 sessions later. Last week we actually got our pictures taken by an awesome photographer from Idaho Falls (Jaclyn Davis) and we realized that waiting to see pictures of a session is a lot harder when you are the client then when you are the photographer. We decided that sneak previews should be something that we should do more. So here is a sneak preview of today’s sessions.
