You’re Not The Only One {West Jordan, UT photographer}

It’s not uncommon for us to have families show up for family pictures, only to have less-than-cooperative children. We just wanted those of you know you’re not the only ones.

Here’s Jack: Our energetic, cute 3 year old – who would not give us a normal smile even with begging and promises of ice cream.

Here’s Elena: Our sassy, beautiful 2 year old – who decided to spit water down her front right when I took the lens cap off the camera, and who also didn’t want to sit still or smile during her pictures either.I finally told her she would get some yogurt if she gave me a smile and this is what I got.So next time you get your kids pictures done and they don’t cooperate, remember that you are not alone. It happens to us photographers too.

Elena did eventually give the camera some love and I got a few great shots of her, but Jack never did earn his ice cream. I did find this picture amongst all the crazy smiles. I’ll take it!

And because our kids are so cute, here is one with all three of them. Gotta love the miracle of three smiling kids in the same picture. Love it.

We still aren’t 100% up-and-running yet with our photography business. We recently moved (again) and are settling down, but hopefully soon we will be able to start taking pictures of family

I had the opportunity to take some pictures of the two cutest kids earlier this fall. Brooklyn and Todd were really well behaved during the shoot, which I was not expecting from toddlers/preschool age. My son is a little older than Brooklyn and he never would have done as well during the shoot as she did. Their cooperation paid off, since we were able to get so many great shots. They both even posed in quite a few fun ways for us. We are used to running and chasing after younger kids, so it was a much more relaxing shoot and we got done really quickly. What great kids. Carolyn must be one great mom to teach them to be so well behaved!

This little guy was alert, happy, and such a handsome guy for his shoot! I’m not posting a lot, but I wanted to put up a picture or two for his mom and dad to see. He loved chewing on his hands, has the cutest smile imaginable and was such a fun guy to shoot!

We took Ethan’s newborn pictures and an entire year has passed by already! I really cannot believe how fast time flies. And yet he seems to have been part of Natalie and Aaron’s family forever too. I work with Natalie and I love hearing all about what a good baby Ethan is, and the fun things he’s learning to do. He’s getting really close to walking (or is even there by the time of this post) and talking to us a lot. Here is one of our favorite little guy’s at a year old!

A while back we took some photos of Tucker, who happens to be one of our son’s buddies. Every time we go out side Jack starts screaming his name. Here are his pictures. I love the looks he gave us during his shoot. If you couldn’t tell we went up to the gardens on the BYU-Idaho campus, which is an awesome place to give you multiple and different settings.

A little more than a year ago we took some pictures of this family. I remember it was really cold and it was starting to snow. I also remember my car had died right after the shoot and they had to jump my car. The kids we cute and they suffered through the shoot, and we got some great photos. In fact I was just looking at them and I think it is funny how my still has changed as well as my technical knowledge. This year, luckily, we hadn’t waited until it was snowing. It was a little cold still but the pictures look awesome and warm. Thanks guys for coming out and having fun with me.

One of my favorite age group to photograph is children around 2 or 3, which makes Michelle happy since she thinks they are the hardest. They are so fun because they just want to do their own thing. It really makes it fun because you can get their genuine looks and attitude. Maya was no different. We went up to the gardens on the campus of BYU-Idaho and just followed her around for about an hour. Here are a couple of the photographs from the shoot.

She has very expressive faces, but we got some cute ones for mom and dad (and Grandmas and Grandpas) too.

My old roommate Sarah and I are constantly talking about getting together and Saturday we finally made it happen. Her son, Flint, turned 1 in May and we got some 1 year shots for him. He was such a sweetie. Check out these blue, blue eyes. I will post more of this session later, but here are a few to tide you over.

And I couldn’t resist – check out this little cowboy’s wranglers? I didn’t even know they came in that size! Cute!
